Capel Machinery Sales was formed by Tom Gleeson and Mark Roberts in 2019. Between them they have over 60 years experience in the construction and equipment sectors. With a wealth of industry experience, they are on hand to assist.
Tom formed the company in January 2019 to provide quality equipment and services to customers. Tom was previously Group Commercial Director at Ardent Hire Solutions where he was responsible for Asset Procurement and Disposals. Prior to this Tom was Commercial Director at One Call hire responsible for procurement and the regional sales team.
Tom has more than 30 years of experience in the construction and rental sectors, gained at John Mowlem and Carillion PLC where he operated as a senior procurement professional, before moving into the hire industry, where he has undertaken a number of senior roles in organisations such as Speedy Hire and Elliot Group.
Over the years Tom has led and been part of significant asset disposal and commercial agreements to provide on going service.
Mark Joined the company in March 2019 and is co-Owner. He has a wealth of experience in equipment disposal having been Resales Director at Ardent Hire. Here he was responsible for multi millions of pounds disposal each year. Prior to this Mark held a senior role in used equipment disposals at Volvo Construction Equipment.
Having begun his career as an apprentice plant fitter in 1988 progressing to fitter and having over 10 years hands on knowledge Mark has an in depth knowledge in equipment quality. Through internal promotion Mark entered his first sales role in 1998 at Hitachi and has continued to be sales focused since then. He is extremely passionate about providing a great customer experience and has established regular customers across the globe.
